SKATING ACADEMY 2009-2010
Fun, Energizing Instruction,
Games, & Patches
for All Ages
Class Information:
Classes are all 30
minutes long. Skater's progress is encouraged by instructions, games, skill sets and FUN, FUN, FUN. Charts, patches
and shows will further encourage your interest.
Certificates are awarded to everyone at the end of each 6 weeks in a session. Merit / star patches are awarded
upon completion of the different levels of skills.
Saturday classes (all ages) are 6 week sessions -includes ½ hr class, skate rental, and Saturday public
skating session.
Intro to Artistic is $50.00 each session. All other classes are $45.00 with reduced prices for multiple family
members $40.00 for 2nd and $35:00 for 3rd and more immediate family member.
Sign-up the 3rd week or later of a session and the cost is $10.00 per week.
Students can register during the 1st or 2nd week of class sessions. Please arrive ½ hr ahead of class time
to register. (Pre-Registration available)
Private lessons during public skate are 15 minutes each - during 12:00 to 2:00pm and can be booked that day with
any teacher available, for $8.00 per lesson.

Saturday
Intro to Artistic Skating 10:30 - 11:00
Intermediate, Advanced 11:00 - 11:30
Learn to Skate, Beginners 11:30 - 12:00
Learn to Skate
Learn the correct, safe way - balance, body position, basic stroking and safe skating. Classes geared for 1st time
skaters (all ages).
Beginner (Merit & 1 Star)
For those that can already skate but need to improve balance, starting/stopping, skating on 1 foot. Instructions,
games, and fun.
Intermediate &
Advanced (2, 3 & 4 Star)
Skating edges, turning, skating backwards, basic footwork and control. Introduction to speed, jumps, spins and
advanced footwork..
Intro to Artistic
skating (Dance, Freeskating, Figures)
Learn the skills required to progress up the RSA proficiency test structure in Dance, Figures and/or Freeskating
(Freestyle).
All Saturday classes are available for both adults and children .
